This paper will describe the object oriented framework devised by Sean Woods to handle the Franklin Institute's Intranet. The system include a workorder system, interfaces into the Linux operating system for user management, and hooks to translate data between to MySQL, sqlite, and LDAP.
The paper will highlight the architecture, as well as go in depth into two example systems: a wiki-like announcement board and a repair tracking system for exhibits.
Included in this paper will be a discussion on abstraction and how do design code that is equally fitting for both web content and shell scripting.
